Marion Ricketts

Marion Ricketts passed away Monday, February 22, 2010 in San Antonio, Texas.  She was born to Earl Rollo and Ethel Estella Ballou on September 11, 1925 in Hemet, California.  Marion was a retired Accounts Payable Specialist in the telecommunications industry and had lived in the Boerne area for almost five years.  Marion enjoyed spending time with her sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She loved to sew, paint, and was an accomplished artist with her needlework and craft projects.  Marion was an active member of the Stitchery Group of the Rainbow Senior Citizen Center.  She enjoyed playing cards with her friends at the Park Meadow Apartments and was active in that community. 

Marion was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Kenneth Ballou.  Survivors include her children:  Steve and Vonda Ricketts of Azle, Texas; Dennis and Connie Ricketts of Andover, Massachusetts; and Greg and Barbara Ricketts of Boerne, Texas.  Her grandchildren - Tobi Parsons of Texarkana, Arkansas; Shea Thacker of Fort Worth, Texas; Major Leslie Gorman of Seattle, Washington; Ronny Steward and Claudia Milnes of Boerne, Texas; and Erin, Jason and Hannah Ricketts of Andover, Massachusetts.  Her Great-Grandchildren - Camryn Parsons, Brandon Thacker, Peyton Thacker, Sarah Gorman, Lindsey Milnes and Anna Milnes. 

A Memorial Service will be held at Vaughan’s Funeral Home on Thursday, February 25th at 2 p.m. with Reverend Fred Martin officiating.  Family Visitation will be immediately prior to the services from noon to 2 p.m.  Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at San Jacinto Valley Cemetery, San Jacinto, California.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rainbow Senior Citizen Center, P. O. Box 1039, Boerne, Texas 78006 or a charity of your choice.

A Memorial Service will be held at Vaughan’s Funeral Home on Thursday, February 25th at 2 p.m. with Reverend Fred Martin officiating.  Family Visitation will be immediately prior to the services from noon to 2 p.m.  Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at San Jacinto Valley Cemetery, San Jacinto, California.
